Girls Night Out

I had such a fun Saturday!

I went to a "Pleasure Party"....I'll leave it at that....at Kristina's and had a blast. After the party, we got all dolled up to go to a dance club in Stockton. She had gotten a deal on a limo, so we arrived in style and danced all night long, all ten of us girls! It was so fun. My sister in law Shaunta came along. We mommy's deserve a night to let down our hair and just PARTY! I won't be doing it again for a loooong time though. I missed my hubby and was thinking all night how much more fun I would be having if he was there to dance with. Sigh.

Here's a picture of me doing a "blow-job" in the limo! :P (More pics soon....)

I plan on packing for my trip to Omaha tomorrow, since I won't have time on Wednesday. My plane leaves San Francisco at 2:30pm and I get to Omaha at 11:30pm, after a layover in Houston, TX. When I get to Omaha, I then need to drive 30 minutes to the hotel. I'm excited, but nervous about traveling alone.

.......

Well, I've been bad at blogging so far, but it is something that I really want to do so I will continue!

We celebrated Addie's first birthday on Saturday! I can't believe my baby is 1! She is so cute - we can't go anywhere without someone commenting on how beautiful she is.

She is such a joy, even though she doesn't sleep through the night yet! She's actually still co-sleeping to tell you the truth. : )

I'm trying to wean her from breast-feeding. It's bittersweet. I love nursing her and she is my last baby....I don't want it to end. But, it has to. I am looking forward to her walking and talking in sentences. I am going to miss this stage as I already miss her as an infant. I wish I could freeze time and just savor the time I have with her now at this wonderful age.

School is rough. Anatomy is rough. Yoga is rough. Well, yoga is not exactly rough; it's just rough getting up and out of the house and at the studio by 9:30am. It's only two times a week, but I'd rather clean the house and spend time with my kiddos than go to a stupid yoga class. I feel great, but the whole new age vibe I get from the instructor is so not cool. Anatomy is so tough. I feel like I get it during the lectures, but when it comes to exams, I've been bombing them. My next one is a week from today and I *think* that I will get a good grade on it because I really know the material and I plan on studying my butt off this weekend!

Busy, Busy

Yesterday was a wonderful day! My mom, Addie, & I went to Portola Valley to visit my surro-twins Delaney & Beckett. They are so big! I haven't seen them since their first birthday and they are now 27 months old. They are walking, talking, and doing all sorts of cute things. Beckett at one time just stared at me for a whole minute. He then turned away running & laughing. I like to think that he was trying to figure out who I was; that he must know who I am. Laney was such a sweetheart. She loved playing with Addie. They are both happy children and are so full of love.

After our visit, we went to IKEA in Palo Alto. I got some drinking glasses, children's tableware, candles, and some of the best cinnamon buns I've ever had! I swear, I can't go to a store without buying yummy scented candles....they are an addiction! We learned that you now have to pretty much buy your own bags to tote your items home. After IKEA, we headed on to Santa Clara to eat dinner at In & Out (yum-o) and to look around the TJ Max / Home Goods. I found some yoga clothes for my class and an outfit for Addie.

We didn't get home until around 11pm, but we had a good day! Addie was in good spirits and did really well.

Today we woke up for Tyler's basketball game after a sleepless night thanks to Addie! She must be constipated or have had gas, although the Mylicon didn't help at all. Anyways, my Tyler is THE BEST little basketball player I have ever seen! I so wish that there were college scouts watching him now - he's so talented. I hope & pray that he stays on the right track and can get some scholarships when the time comes around.

Mike (my brother in law) came over this evening with my nephew & nieces. He and Dara are getting a divorce :( It's so sad, especially for the kids. We went out for dinner and had a good time with all the kids. I'm sure the staff at Denny's shutters when all of us come walking through the doors! We love kids eat free nights! Applebee's is our new favorite though. Kids eat for .99 Monday - Wednesday nights.

After dinner, we said our goodbyes and headed over to wish our friend Dax a happy birthday. They were partying; lots of drinking and other stuff. It reminded me of a party I would have gone to as a teenager or younger adult. We didn't stay long and ended up taking Neven (Dax's son) home with us. There were a lot of kids all around this party atmosphere. It just felt odd.

Richard got a call from my cousin Chris wondering if he would be interested in going to Black Oak Casino with him tonight. I didn't mind, so that's where Rich is now. Chris' wife committed suicide a year or two ago. He is raising their son and also my cousin Carla's 4 year old son whom he plans to adopt.

So, in recap, that was my Friday and Saturday! I am now going to get me a bowl of ice cream and watch The Time Traveler's Wife and try to relax before I go to bed. We have church in the morning and I would like to clean the house so I can study for Wednesday's exam in Anatomy.

I can't wait!

I am excited to start blogging! I've never done this before, so let's see if I can add this to my already full plate.

Tomorrow I am going to see THE twins. Those of you who know me, know exactly who I am talking about. I haven't seen them since their first birthday, which was over a year and a half ago. I did see their mom (Kristin) last February at Addie's baby shower. I am really excited to be seeing all of them. Mom is going with me. I hate driving to the bay area alone....I hate going on any long drive alone! I plan on taking lots of pictures and am looking forward to watching Addie and the twins play. We are having lunch and are going to hang out for a little while.

I need to get some rest now...Richard is already snoring away on the couch while Seinfeld drones on in the background. I'm going upstairs to sleep with my almost 1 year old in what has become our bed. I think on my next post, I will weigh out the pros and cons of co-sleeping.... : )
